I think it doesn't really matter what color, just how you do it.
French tips are really pretty.
You can get a kit and do this really easily and it looks really cute if you use a bright green or dark blue or black for the tip instead of white.

What's really cool is to paint your nails a light, silvery gray. It goes with everything you wear, is simple, and very chic. And no one else has it! =D
Probably pinks or purples. Definitely not red, some teenagers try to pull that look off but it's far too much and too bright.
