for summer it is bright colors so i would go with pink. If your brave i would try a bright bright pink but i medium pink example:

nothing is in style... it's what you like and feel the best in. Some people don't like dark colors for example and others do. Go with what you like better and feel better in.
If you are blonde like your cartoon pic (don't remember what they are called) then I would go with a barbie hot pink, I think that would look great and a good color for summer.
